The Process
I’ve designed a 3 step process to make it as easy as possible. These steps ensure I know exactly what your goals and wishes are for the photoshoot. It gives me an opportunity to get to know you and make an important connection that will be important to a successful photoshoot. It will also take the pressure off so that you can enjoy the photoshoot from start to finish.
In-Studio
My photography studio is located in the heart of Old Towne Petersburg on Old Street in the historic Appomattox Iron Works building. The studio is designed for comfort and photography, featuring the only custom built cyclorama in the Tri-Cities area! Enjoy a relaxed, no rush atmosphere that includes refreshments and a private changing/restroom.
On-Location
I also have scouted unique locations throughout Old Towne Petersburg for on-location photoshoots. Because I know and shoot at these locations frequently, I can quickly setup and focus on you! But I also travel outside of Old Towne to other locations including those that you choose. Regardless of the location, I still maintain the relaxed, no rush atmosphere my clients have come to enjoy and expect.
Step 1: Consultation
Once you book your session I will contact you to schedule an in-person or video-conference consultation to discuss your goals for the session. For lifestyle portraits we will also talk about locations and the best times to shoot there. If you’re not sure about booking a session without speaking to me first, please feel free to call.
Step 2: Photoshoot
Enjoy a fun and easy going session in the studio or on location. No pressure here, I promise! I will work with you to strike the most flattering poses and capture genuine expressions. You receive one hour, but if we need more time it is available. Unlimited wardrobe changes, poses and expressions within the allotted time. When in the studio, there is comfortable space for family and friends during the photoshoot. Light refreshments, clean restrooms and a changing area are ready for your use. When on-location, I will arrive early to scout out the location.
Step 3: Reveal
One to two weeks after your session is complete, I’ll invite you back for an in-person or video conference order session where we review your session images and make your final product selections.
Each portrait session includes my selection of the best photos. Each receives my Starter Level editing and retouching services, digital files for sharing on social media and print options. You then select your 5 favorite photos and these will receive my Ultimate Level editing and retouching services, digital files for sharing on social media, and fine art print options. If you would like more than 5 photos to receive the Ultimate Level editing and retouching it is $50 per photo.
Classic Portraits
- Single Subject Session Fee: $150
- Couples Session Fee: $250
- Family (up to 5 people) Session Fee: $350
Portrait Photoshoots include the following:
- consultation in the studio, on Zoom or by phone
- 1 hour
- high-key seamless studio cyclorama
- photo proofs are available for review within 1-2 week in an online gallery
- selected 6 photos are edited and retouched and made available via download
When a photoshoot is scheduled, 50% of the session fee must be paid upfront and is not refundable 2 weeks prior to the photoshoot. During the reveal, I will review the photos included with the session and you may select your 6 favorite photos. This fee includes my Ultimate editing and retouching services.
Graduation Portraits
- $250
Portrait Photoshoots include the following:
- consultation in the studio, on Zoom or by phone
- 1 hour
- 3 outfit changes
- high-key seamless studio cyclorama or backdrop of your choice
- photo proofs are available for review within 1-2 week in an online gallery
- selected 6 photos are edited and retouched and made available via download
When a photoshoot is scheduled, 50% of the session fee must be paid upfront and is not refundable 2 weeks prior to the photoshoot. During the reveal, I will review the photos included with the session and you may select your 6 favorite photos. This fee includes my Ultimate editing and retouching services.
Generation Portraits
- $450
Multi-generational portraits for large family groups!
Portrait Photoshoots include the following:
- consultation in the studio, on Zoom or by phone
- 2 hours
- includes various groupings
- high-key seamless studio cyclorama
- photo proofs are available for review within 1-2 week in an online gallery
- selected photos are edited and retouched and made available via download
When a photoshoot is scheduled, 50% of the session fee must be paid upfront and is not refundable 2 weeks prior to the photoshoot. During the reveal, I will review the photos included with the session and you may select your 6 favorite photos. This fee includes my Ultimate editing and retouching services.
Add-Ons

On-Location Fee: Add $75.00 to the session fee of your choice.

Extra Photo Fee: $50 per photo. (Includes my Ultimate editing and retouching.)
- Digitally composited background fee: Add $100 to the session fee of your choice.
- Behind-the-scenes video of your photoshoot fee: Add $100 to the session fee of your choice.
