The Process
At Steven.G Studios, we believe professional portrait photography should be within reach for every family and individual in our community. We offer professional quality, transparent pricing, and the flexibility to create the perfect session for you.
The following steps ensure I know exactly what your goals and wishes are for the photoshoot. It gives me an opportunity to get to know you and make an important connection that will be important to a successful photoshoot. It will also take the pressure off so that you can enjoy the photoshoot from start to finish.
In-Studio
My photography studio is located in the heart of Old Towne Petersburg on Old Street in the historic Appomattox Iron Works building. The studio is designed for comfort and photography, featuring the only custom built cyclorama in the Tri-Cities area! Enjoy a relaxed, no rush atmosphere that includes refreshments and a private changing/restroom.
On-Location
I also have scouted unique locations throughout Old Towne Petersburg for on-location photoshoots. Because I know and shoot at these locations frequently, I can quickly setup and focus on you! But I also travel outside of Old Towne to other locations including those that you choose. Regardless of the location, I still maintain the relaxed, no rush atmosphere my clients have come to enjoy and expect.
Step 1: Consultation
Once you book your session I will contact you to schedule an in-person or video-conference consultation to discuss your goals for the session. For lifestyle portraits we will also talk about locations and the best times to shoot there.
Step 2: Photoshoot
Enjoy a fun and easy going session in the studio or on location. No pressure here, I promise! I will work with you to strike the most flattering poses and capture genuine expressions. Unlimited wardrobe changes, poses and expressions within the allotted time. When in the studio, there is comfortable space for family and friends during the photoshoot.
Step 3: Reveal
One to two weeks after your session is complete you will receive access to an online gallery of my selections of the best photos. You then select your favorite photos and these will receive my editing and retouching services, digital files for sharing on social media, and fine art print options.
Individual Portraits – $125
- 30-minute session

Family Portraits – $225
- 1-hour session
- 10 professionally edited images
- Includes up to 6 people ($15 per extra person)

Extended Family Sessions – $325
Multi-generational portraits for large family groups!
Portrait Photoshoots include the following:
- 1.5-hour session
- 15 professionally edited images
- Perfect for reunions, multi-generation portraits (up to 12 people)
- consultation in the studio, on Zoom or by phone
- high-key seamless studio cyclorama or backdrop
- photo proofs are available for review within 1-2 week in an online gallery
Enhance Your Session
- 5 additional images – $75
- Full gallery download – $150
- Rush Editing (48 hrs) – $75
- Premium Beauty Retouching – $35 per image
- Prints available starting at $40
When a photoshoot is scheduled, 50% of the session fee must be paid upfront and is not refundable 2 weeks prior to the photoshoot. During the reveal, I will review the photos included with the session and you may select your 6 favorite photos. This fee includes my Ultimate editing and retouching services.
